Betty's parents are Hal Cooper and Alice Cooper. Betty is the youngest of the Coopers' three children, her older sister being Polly Cooper and her older (and seldomly mentioned) brother being Chic Cooper. Betty has a cat named Caramel.

Betty is friends with most of the primary and secondary Riverdale characters, such as Veronica Lodge, Archie Andrews, Jughead Jones, Reggie Mantle, Cheryl Blossom, Midge Klump, and Nancy Woods.
Home Life
Betty is usually depicted as living in a 2-story house. Her bedroom is on the second floor. Her bedroom is often decorated with pictures of Archie.
The Coopers have been depicted, financially, as being anywhere from working class to middle class (with lower middle class being the medium). Depending on the story, Betty either has her own car or has to rely on the family car or her skateboard for transportation. Also, Betty has either clothes or empty hangers in her closet.
